As our spring semester reaches its apex, our students and faculty are working hard to wrap up their artistic masterpieces for the end-of-semester exhibition we call La Mostra (that’s Italian for “The Show”).  Exactly one week from tonight, we’ll be opening the doors of Palazzo Ferretti and welcoming our Cortonesi friends to view the paintings, ceramics, photographs, and ‘zines that our spring students have created.

UGA Cortona Scholarships

Scholarship opportunities are available for UGA Cortona students, including those applying for the Spring 2019 and Summer 2019 Italy Studies Abroad programs.

2017 UGA Cortona Reunion Exhibition

UGA Cortona continues its annual Reunion Mostra tradition with the opening of its 2017 Reunion Exhibition at the UGA Lamar Dodd School of Art in Athens on January 4, 2018. The Mostra concludes on Saturday, January 20, with a celebratory ceremony and reception at 3:00 PM in Dodd Room S151.

On November 10, UGA Cortona Fall 2017 students and faculty opened the Mostra, a public exhibition of new artwork which is a central component of the Italy Studies Abroad semester. This Mostra took place in a new location: Palazzo Ferretti, located on Via Nazionale, Cortona’s main shopping street.

UGA Cortona Fall 2017 Firenze Excursion

In October, UGA Cortona Fall 2017 students and faculty traveled by train to Firenze for a four-day excursion. The trip began with a walking tour of the city, with stops at Piazza San Marco, Piazza SS. Annunziata, and the Piazza del Duomo di Firenze, location of the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore and the Battistero di San Giovanni
