These courses are tentatively offered on the Summer & Fall Programs.
Students will develop communicative concepts using combinations of photography, traditional materials, and imported or digitally created visuals.
ARGD 3010 — Foundations of Graphic Design (Summer, Fall) (Undergraduate)
An overview of the basic tools, techniques, and concepts that graphic designers use to create effective visual communication, including combining typography and imagery, composing graphic elements, understanding how design decisions affect the communication of messages, basic image preparation, and competency in relevant design software.
ARGD 4120 — Informational Graphics, Signs, and Posters (Summer, Fall) (Undergraduate)
Documenting informational graphics, signs, and poster designs in everyday life through digital photography. A series of projects focusing on concepts represented in a form which is thought provoking, challenging, or provocative. Graphics which transcend language and cultural differences will be explored. Traditional materials combined with vector- and raster-based image creation software will be used.
